I have listed seven of the most hard-working foods that our body loves.
Berries
Berries such as blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and plums are at top list of foods with anti-oxidant qualities. They fight radicals caused by exposure to the sun's harmful rays, and protect cells from damage and cancer. Also they guard skin against premature aging.
Healthy Oils
Do not be misled - we're talking about cold-pressed or extra virgin oils. Unlike commercial oils that are processed rigorously under extreme heat, losing essential nutrients at the same time, these healthy alternatives have all the goods intact. Olive oil is one good example. It keeps skin lubricated. Reminder: oils are high in calories and you should take no more than two tablespoons a day.
Low Fat Dairy Products
Low fat milk or yogurt are great sources of Vitamin A - a basic component of healthy skin. Moreover, low-fat yogurt has live bacteria that only aids digestion, but also works double time in giving you a healthy glow.
Good Fats
Salmon, walnuts and canola oil have one thin gin common: essential fatty acids that are responsible for healthy skin membranes. They regulate smooth nutrients, moisture and waste flow in and out of the cells. Enough of these good fatty acids lead to plumper,, younger-looking skin. It also offers protection against heart disease.
Green Tea
Green tea is a miracle herb. Aside from guarding cells from cancer, when you apply it to skin, it also protects from the sun's ultraviolet rays.
Water
Hydrate! Juices help, but nothing beats pure, clean water. It is also advisable to take water enriched with minerals as it works harder in hydrating and cleaning our system. Experts say eight glasses of water a day is about enough.
